Woolf Electric strives to be on the cutting edge of the electrical trade.  We advise our customers of the very latest in lighting and other electrical equipment such as L.E.D. lights, recess lighting, fluorescent lighting, home automation, and green technology.

Light Emitting Diodes or L.E.D.'s for short, are a wonderful alternative for fluorescent bulbs in signs.  This is due to the fact that L.E.D.'s are cooler running and are themselves waterproof.  Another benefit of L.E.D.'s are that they require a transformer rather than the more polluting ballast of a fluorescent fixture.

Recessed lights lend elegance to a home.  They are less visible fixtures that are placed into the ceiling.  Recessed lighting can also help to highlight specific areas while keeping others darker.  For instance, in the evening, your wife may want to read a book in the living room while you want to rest in your favorite easy chair, recessed lights will allow for your wife to get the overhead light she needs while you are comfortably "in the dark."

Fluorescent lighting is a great alternative to incandescent lighting in garages, large open spaces, and outdoor spaces.  This is due to the flood light capabilities of fluorescent tubes.  They are great for large patio or deck lighting as well and can be easily placed under your awnings.

Home automation is a technology Woolf Electric is very proud to provide.  Home automation is the use of control panel style light switches and computer systems that allow for the most comfortable and effective lighting and electrical control in the industry.  You control the mood of each room in your home with your lighting preferences.

The most popular green technology that we see in homes are Compact Fluorescent Lamps or C.F.L.'s.  However, they are not just the ice-cream swirl design anymore.  C.F.L.'s are now made to suit many different fixture styles and are available in flood and spot light options.  Another green technology we are proud to see gaining popularity is the use of solar panels.  Using solar panels greatly reduce your cost per WATTs therefore saving you energy costs and there are incentive programs from energy companies to install and use the panels. Solar tubes are another wonderful way to go green.  Solar tubes are similar to sky-lights providing natural light from the sky into your home.  However, unlike sky-lights, solar tubes are smaller, cylindrical tubes with a reflective surface inside so light from the dome on top of your roof gets diffused so that the light they produce is more flooding and they are cooler.  The solar tubes fixture inside your home can be customized to match your interior decor and trim as well.
